Just one Asian Cup team player from India has gone without Uma Chetry.
India have named a familiar-looking club for the children's T20 World Cup 2024 retaining the bulk of the area that qualified for the last of the children's T20 Asia Cup in July this time.
Fourteen of the 15 players in the World Cup crew were also part of the Asia Cup aspect, with only Uma Chetry missing out. Yastika Bhatia and Shreyanka Patil are both candidates, but India chose her after her left hand fractured her hand during an Asia Cup match against Pakistan. Both of these options are conditional on their health.
Bhatia, the wicketkeeper-batter, was Mumbai Indians ' third-highest run-scorer in WPL 2024 with 204 works in in eight adventures. She missed her second T20I game against Bangladesh in Sylhet in April, but she has since played. She has a left knee injury that is already requiring treatment at the BCCI's National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
Tanuja Kanwar, who replaced Patil in the India club for the Asia Cup, has not been included, but has been named among the flying resources. Along with Kanwar, Chetry, even a wicketkeeper-batter, and quickly bowling Saima Thakor have been named in the reserves. Batter Raghvi Bist and legspinner Priya Mishra, who were both part of the India A crew that travelled to Australia lately, have been named non-travelling deposits.
Harmanpreet Kaur may continue leading the side, with Smriti Mandhana the vice-captain. Along with the two, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma are expected to form the backbone of the bat. Renuka Singh may direct the fast-bowling product alongside Pooja Vastrakar. Deepti, Radha Yadav and Patil are the primary bowlers.
India are placed in Group A at the World Cup along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and are targeting their initial children's T20 World Cup title.
In response to the country's widespread anti-government protests, a number of nations issued travel advisories to their citizens to prevent them from visiting the country. The game was actually scheduled to take place in Bangladesh, but it was moved to the UAE next week.
The competition gets live on October 3 in Sharjah with the ultimate slotted for October 20 in Dubai. India may sing Pakistan at the same place on October 6 and face New Zealand in an hour activity in Dubai on October 4.
