At the age of 16, Rocky Flintoff, the brother of former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, has signed his first professional contract with Lancashire.
Flinfoff, who was named in the England Under-19s crew to encounter Sri Lanka earlier this year, first joined the Lancashire university next year. He has featured four days for the 2nd XI this year, hitting a half- centuries against Durham and a hundred against Warwickshire.
According to his father's bowling approach, his clippings became popular on social media.
Rocky Flintoff expressed his excitement and happiness at signing my first professional deal with Lancashire. To mark for my home state is a dream come true because it's something I've been working toward ever since I first started playing cricket.
It's a great honor for me to continue playing for the Red Rose since I've been with the team since I was eight years old. I've enjoyed playing for the Next XI this year, and I'm eager to work hard all the way up.
Mark Chilton, Lancashire's chairman of cricket efficiency, said:" I would like to thank Rocky, his family and anyone who has been with him on his voyage in cricket thus far.
" He has impressed the coaching staff with his achievements and determined approach for the Next XI already this year. He has a grounded mindset and is aware that labor must begin right away to realize his full potential.
We look forward to welcoming Rocky into the professional crew after he leaves for the England U19s for a short while.
Andrew Flintoff made his Lancashire album in 1995 before going on to play in more than 200 different types and became popular for helping to reclaim the Ashes in 2005, after spending 16 years in Asian arms.
