Ham, who served as the Bucks ' assistant coach from 2018 to 2022 before moving to Los Angeles, did now experience a sort reunion as a result of Ham's hiring. Milwaukee won the 2021 final with Buddenholzer and Ham. Ham even played for Milwaukee from 1999- 2002 during his job as a NBA ahead.
After the Lakers lost in the first playoff game, Ham was fired. The Lakers won the NBA finals in 2020, but they've struggled since, losing half in the first round of quarterfinals and completely missing the playoffs in 2022. In 2023, Ham led the team to a stronger playoff run, but the Denver Nuggets, the future NBA champion, lost in the event championships.
Under River, who was hired to mentor the Bucks in January with the hope of bringing them another championship, Ham will take over as next manager. Milwaukee made it to the postseason this year, but Milwaukee fell to the Indiana Pacers in the first round.
