A memorial outside the Lakers ' home market will soon serve as the team's most recognizable coach.
In the Los Angeles Lakers ' past, Pat Riley is a renowned player. He'll soon get immortalized outside the team's home venue with a monument.
The Lakers announced on Monday that a monument recognizing Riley may be placed on Star Plaza outside Crypto.com Arena. The team stated that the statue is anticipated to be finished in 2026, but an official opening time has not yet been set.
Riley will be the seventh number that the Lakers have paid gift to, joining Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Chick Hearn and Elgin Baylor on the square.

Riley coached the Dodgers to four NBA finals, becoming an classic face of the" Showtime" period that was arguably the most successful in franchise history. The origins of that time were just chronicled for a new generation of viewers in the HBO serious line," Winning Time", based on Jeff Pearlman's 2014 guide," Showtime".
From 1981 to 1990, Riley's team won 50 games or more in each of his nine times as Lakers mind coach. In five of those times, the Lakers won 60-plus activities.
