Porziņģis missed Game 3 with a posterior tibialis dislocation in his left leg.
Kristaps Porziņģis is a move for Game 4 of the NBA Finals, with the Boston Celtics looking to push the Dallas Mavericks for their 18th NBA finals.
According to ESPN's Tim Bontemps, Celtics mind coach Joe Mazzulla confirmed Porziis had been engaged after missing Game 3 with what the team called a lateral tibialis displacement in his left foot. Porziņģis was recently designated as controversial Thursday.
Mazzulla specified Porziņģis had "only be used in certain situations, if required".
Porziņģis previously sustained the wound in the Celtics ' Game 2 win, when a box- out collision with Mavericks center Dereck Lively II left the Estonian great man clearly limping down the court. He did n't show up in the final four minutes of the game because he moved slowly the rest of the way.
According to reports, the wound is distinct from the leg injury that prevented him from playing in the previous two playoff games.
Porziņģis ' lack loomed as a huge punch for the Celtics, as the original Maverick was among the most powerful people in Games 1 and 2 despite coming off the couch. The Celtics outscored the Mavericks by a combined 25 items in those activities, while Porziņģis was a combined plus- 25, meaning Dallas played Boston to a pick in the non- Porziņģis days.
The Mavericks capitalized on the Celtics ' missing big man by hammering the paint frequently in Game 3, which ended up being the series ' most dramatic game. In the third quarter, the Celtics regrouped well enough to get a 21-point direct, but their unforced comeback was insufficient to earn a victory.
Second major man Xavier Tillman Sr. was good enough filling in for Porziņģis, but it was quite clear the Celtics were missing something without their regular- season starter.
Game 4 is scheduled for Friday at 8: 30 p. m. ET ( ABC ).
