The clinics were surgical clean-up procedures, according to The Athletic. Following their first-round postseason defeat to the Indiana Pacers, the Cash first had to have surgery. Middleton's left hip was damaged when he landed on Kevin Durant's legs on February 6 after attempting a jump shot, and the process was required to repair the damage.
" I ca n't think of an ankle sprain I've had this bad like this", Middleton said at the time. " I mean, after it happened, I tried to play, run it off a little bit, see if it was going to lighten up or whatever. Just did n't. Did n't feel comfortable. Went into the back, tried to find re-taped, and as soon as I took my foot away, it just blew up. But, had to shut it down".
The next of the clinics took place in June and was minor compared to the second, addressing lingering problems with his right knee.
Since the clinics, Middleton has begun gentle court work and is expected to become fully healthy and ready for the 2024-2025 NBA season, according to The Athletic.
Middleton missed 16 games in a row because of a left knee injuries before making a comeback on March 17 after missing 16 games in addition to that. He played in 12 of the last 15 games of the ordinary time, missing three according to left ankle damage control.
