With a knee injury, Leonard missed the Clippers ' last three playoff games. He was immediately selected to play for Team USA in the Paris Olympics, and he started training camp with the team as scheduled this summertime before he was removed from the squad. That choice, Team USA's speech said, was done in his "best attention" despite him feeling "ready to thrive". Derrick White, a player for the Boston Celtics, took Leonard's place.
The Clippers ' president of basketball businesses Lawrence Frank said he was "very unhappy" by the determination, and they insisted that they had nothing to do with it.
Throughout his profession, Leonard has suffered a number of significant knee injury.
