For the immediate future, Kawhi Leonard may wear streetwear.
Kawhi Leonard's outlook has gone from bad to worse.
Following the discovery that he had an off-season knee process, the Los Angeles Clippers All-Star made a statement in September that he intended to participate in Wednesday's period opener. Leonard's lingering leg swelling, which prevented him from playing in the playoffs last year, made headlines last week.
On Wednesday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Leonard did lose "weeks" with the damage.
" I'm told Kawhi Leonard may be missing days", Charania reported Wednesday. " This is not an harm that's going to be measured by a week, two weeks, possible. Never days, naturally.
Without him, the Clipper may start the year for an extended period of time.
When asked about Leonard's progress on Wednesday following Charania's record, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue declined to provide a schedule.
After losing All-Star Paul George to the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency after failing to acknowledge words on a long-term deal, that's not good news for the newly reformed Clippers team.
When healthy, Leonard remains one of the game's most risky two-way people. He's an aristocracy defender who averaged 23.7 items, 6.1 touchdowns, 4.9 assists and 1.6 grabs last year while shooting 41.7 % from 3-point collection.
However, his job has been hampered by his presence and physical condition since joining the San Antonio Spurs. Since joining the Clippers in 2019, Leonard has played 68 games for the most of those activities. However, he was unable to play in his last eight games of the regular season and four of his playoff appearances in Dallas ' damage to the Dallas Mavericks in the postseason due to knee inflammation.
Prior to last year, Leonard had n't played in more than 57 games in any of his previous four seasons with the Clippers. He missed the entire 2021-22 plan with a torn ACL. Now he's on speed to overlook another important part the regular season.
Leonard's lack means the Clippers may depend more on James Harden and offseason acquisitions Derrick Jones Jr. and Kevin Porter Jr. to make the pile. The Clippers play host to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday to begin the year. They'll do so at house in the first regular-season sport at the team's new Inglewood house, the Intuit Dome.
