Longtime TNT journalist Charles Barkley dropped a beautiful statement after Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday, revealing that he plans to retire from tv after the 2024- 25 NBA time.

Barkley stated that he has discussed leaving TNT for different networks because Warner Bros. prevented him from making the announcement with little notice and plenty of emotion. Discovery eventually decided he was ready to give up the speaker after one last year, despite the likelihood of losing NBA right after the following year.

Barkley's argument:

" There's been a lot of noise around our community the last few decades. I just want to say, I talked to all the other networks, but I ai n't going nowhere other than TNT. But I have made the decision myself, no matter what happens, next month is going to be my last year on tv.

I just want to say thanks to the NBA home. I'm grateful and happy for you folks, but I'll have to give them the go-ahead at the end of the time. I hope TNT continues to be NBA... I'm not going to another channel, but I'm going to pass the stick to Blake Crawford or Vince Carter or you Steve]Smith], but next time, I'm only going to retire after 25 times."

The following day, TNT responded, stating that it was still intending to talk about the future with Barkley.

Charles is a radio and hall of fame who will always be cherished by TNT Sports.

We're anticipating a wonderful next NBA on TNT time and further discussions with him about our future plans.

It's definitely worth noting that Barkley has attempted retirement several times in the past few years, but situation are significantly different this time around.

Next time was now set to be the end of an era at TNT, with the system still on the verge of losing its NBA offer to NBC. WBD mind David Zaslav has suggested that the system will rather do less expensive deals in different sports, such as school football and tennis, even though it might also try to match NBC's bid or reach a smaller deal with the league.

Barkley has expressed his dissatisfaction with the entire process, calling the people in charge of his company" clowns" and criticizing what the change will bring to his" Inside the NBA" show. In the event that TNT loses its NBA right, he reportedly had the right to withdraw from his contract with TNT, and he even suggested that his manufacturing company might buy" Inside the NBA."

Otherwise, he has decided to retire, ending a radio job that has earned him just as many, if not more, followers than his Hall of Fame playing job with the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets.

There is only one Charles Barkley

Barkley's occupation at TNT goes up to 2000, the year after he retired as a person. His work as a presenter included four Sports Emmys and no lack of appearances somewhere, most importantly with his sick- fated" King Charles" present on CNN alongside Gayle King.

Barkley is a distinctive figure in the constantly evolving sports media landscape. Above all, he is known for his blunt honesty. If a player plays badly, he says he played badly. If he does n't like a coach's decision, he says he did n't like the decision. If he is bothered by current events, he speaks out. There is no massaging of the truth, no attempt to save egos.

Barkley's reputation for being one of the most entertaining television personalities was bolstered by the chemistry with" Inside the NBA" co-hosts Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O'Neal. The quartet often created a feeling you were just watching four knowledgable friends trading jokes about basketball ( and each other ), and they were beloved as a result.

Barkley said he wants to pass the baton, but there's no way a person can replicate what he does on television. There may be someone out there who can draw in the amount of viewers Barkley attracted in some other way, but there is only one Charles Barkley.

On the plus side, he might have more time to work on his golf game soon.
