Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers flew away in the third quarter on Monday evening at the United Center to beat the Chicago Bulls 119-113. That pushed them to a great 12-0 report on the year.
The Cavaliers, who are the next tournament team left standing in the NBA this year, are now just the seventh team to commence 12-0 or better in group story. The Golden State Warriors ' opening plan of 2015-16 with 24 subsequent victories is already the best start in company history. Though the Bulls pushed back in the third fourth and jumped to a nine-point result after a pair of Ayo Dosunmu free throws later in the time, the Cavaliers rattled off an 11-2 work to connect the game up almost immediately. The Cavs held Chicago to only two field target, easy bubbles from both Dalen Terry and Josh Giddey, in the last six minutes of the third, too. That pushed Cleveland to a 3-point direct entering the third quarter.
The Cavaliers soon put a fadeaway range jumper from Zach LaVine on the end of the game, which gave the Bulls a second chance to tie the game up. Only hours later, Donovan Mitchell dropped a quick break layup off a steal from Ty Jerome after Evan Mobley had already made an easy alley-oop. The Cavaliers were able to hold the Cavaliers a move away the rest of the way with a 9-2 run, which completed the six-point victory.
Mitchell finished with 36 positions and eight touchdowns, and he shot 7-of-16 from behind the arc. Darius Garland added 17 points and five help, and Evan Mobley finished with 15 items and 11 touchdowns.
LaVine led the Bulls with 26 positions and six touchdowns. Nikola Vucevic finished with 20 positions and eight touchdowns, and Coby White added 20 items with five 3-pointers. The Bulls had 20 turnover as a team, also, which the Cavaliers turned into 35 items.
Next up on Wednesday will be the Cavaliers ' game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The longest winning streak in team history would be won that. In the first few months of the year, Mitchell and the Cavaliers are looking like real challengers in the Eastern Conference, despite their eventual failures.
