Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers flew away in the third quarter on Monday evening at the United Center to beat the Chicago Bulls 119-113. That pushed them to a great 12-0 report on the time.
The Cavaliers, who are the next tournament team left standing in the NBA, are now just the seventh team to commence 12-0 or better in club history. The Golden State Warriors ' opening plan of 2015-16 with 24 subsequent victories is already the best start in company history. The Cavs held Chicago to only two area goals, simple bubbles from both Dalen Terry and Josh Giddey, in the last six minutes of the fourth. That pushed Cleveland to a three-point direct entering the third quarter.
The Cavaliers quickly put a fadeaway range jumper from Zach LaVine on the break to tie the game once more midway through the last period. Moments later, Mitchell dropped a quick-break dunk off a steal from Ty Jerome after Evan Mobley had already threw down an effortless alley-oop. The Cavaliers were able to hold the Cavaliers a move away the rest of the way with a 9-2 run, which completed the six-point victory.
Mitchell finished with 36 positions and eight touchdowns, and he shot 7-of-16 from behind the arc. Darius Garland added 17 points and five help, and Mobley finished with 15 items and 11 touchdowns.
LaVine led the Bulls with 26 positions and six touchdowns. Nikola Vucevic finished with 20 positions and eight touchdowns, and Coby White added 20 items with five 3-pointers. The Bulls had 20 turnover as a team, which the Cavaliers turned into 35 items.
