Last week when the Pacers faced the Atlanta Hawks in a summer show, George hyperextended his remaining leg. In the first half, he left and did not come back. The team later announced that George had a bone bruise and had avoided any structural deterioration. Yet, no one was sure if George, the group's big filing this season, may be ready for opening day.
Now we know George wo n't be making his Sixers debut Wednesday. George did be reevaluated after this week, according to the team.
Embiid is also recovering from tearing the bubble in his left leg in January 2024. Head coach Nick Nurse has stated that the team is being cautious with their great man, especially given that he played for Team USA at the Summer Olympics, even though the damage was surgically repaired and Embiid was able to return to action in April.
While Embiid did never play in any sports this year, the Pacers did state that he is ramping up his return-to-play actions, including scrimmaging. Next year, the team physicians will evaluate him again.
