The Paris 2024 Olympics basketball game is afoot, but the activity has kicked off in Saint-Etienne and the European capital
Hot on the heels of Euro 2024 and the Copa America, the summer's next big game is afoot.
The men's basketball competition officially kicked off on Wednesday with Argentina taking on Morocco in Saint-Etienne, while Uzbekistan faced Spain at Paris ' Parc des Costs on Friday night.

Why is the Olympic sport not just being played in Paris?
The soccer competition may be played in seven various venues throughout France, according to the device lists for the men's and women's competitions.
Paris Saint-Germain's Parc des Princes is just one of the locations used and may number five party games and therefore a quarter-final, plus the silver medal match.
Games will also be played in Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne, Nice and Nantes and there are a few factors why the behavior is not exclusive to Paris.
First off, it's over to boring transportation. Over the men's and women's games, there are 58 games to be played in a 17-day time between July 24 and August 10. It would be difficult to hold four matches a day at the Parc des Princes, so more than one location is necessary. The action needs to be spread out more, especially since Paris FC's 20, 000-capacity Stade Sebastien Charlety serves as the city's main Olympic Stadium and the Stade de France serves as its major Olympic Stadium.
By taking the game to some of the biggest basis in the country, it also allows more viewers to be there and gives the whole of the country the opportunity to enter an Olympic event.
This was the situation at the London 2012 Games, with Wembley hosting the gold prize matches, but the likes of Old Trafford, the Millennium Stadium, St James ' Park, Hampden Park and the Ricoh Arena all having games.
