Harry Kane may break England people's caps report in next two decades
England will perform four more activities after Tuesday, starting with the October Nations League game against Greece and Finland before the November set against Greece and Ireland. If Kane appeared in every one of them, Kane would be at 104.
Depending on the size class they are drawn in, England will include either six or ten activities as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifying group. This call it another 10 games until 2025 because they will likely handle friendlies to make up the group's size. That would be 114.
There's another international window in March 2026, which is another two friendlies... assuming England do n't need two play-off games, anyway. Just before the World Cup begins, there are two more games scheduled for June 2026. That's 118.
Harry Kane would need to have played in seven World Cup games by the time the game was over to similar Shilton's report, or eight to surpass it.
A further 32 rounds of 32 knockout games are added as a result of the expansion, which will allow for a total of five knockout games ( with the third-place playoff guaranteeing a fifth for all four semi-finalists ).
The earliest that Kane was split Shilton's record would be in the World Cup final or the third-place play-off in 2026, if he played every game England could play.
By the time Kane is 33 years old, he wo n't be unthinkable, and even if he did n't play for five England games, he could still surpass Rooney's 120-capacity record.
Six people have already surpassed 125 hats: Rachel Yankey, Casey Stoney, Alex Scott, Karen Carney, Jill Scott, and all-time document holder Fara Williams, who played 172 games for England from 2001-2019. Lucy Bronze is now on 124 cap.
