But, it's not just the people who are facing uncertain future, as one of the world's leading commentators is also into the final weeks of his latest offer.
Gary Lineker has been the face of the BBC's sports coverage and broadcaster of Match of the Day for 25 years, with the 63-year-old the prospect reporter during the company's policy of Euro 2024 this summertime.
Given that Lineker is currently wrapping up his £1.35 million-per-year deal with the BBC, debate about his upcoming has arisen in recent months. As things stand, so, this is set to be his last year in the position.
This comes after the BBC revealed that Lineker does not provide the broadcaster's fresh Champions League features show that begins this year, despite Lineker having formerly fronted BT Sport's protection of the contest.
Lineker has been the subject of a number of controversies in recent months, having been briefly suspended by the BBC for taking aim at the then-Conservative government's use of language around asylum policy on social media in 2023. His criticism of England's Euro 2024 group stage performances that he made on his The Rest if Football podcast were also picked up on and were addressed by Three Lions skipper Harry Kane during the tournament.
Lineker was asked how long he would stay on BBC Breakfast during the celebrations for Match of the Day's 60th anniversary last month.
" I do n't... I do n't know! Depends how long they want me, I suppose. I love doing it at the moment, I've still got another year left, at least.
" We'll have to wait and see what happens. Obviously it's another change in football and television and the rights of the Premier League and stuff like that.
" All of these things will be a part," he declared. But I just think that having presented it for 25 years has been a total honor. I must be getting old"!
