Sven-Goran Eriksson, the former England boss, passed ahead.
Sven-Goran Eriksson, a previous England director, passed away at the age of 76 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
During his five years in charge, the Swede led the Three Lions to the quarter-finals of each competition. He also led the team to two World Cups and one European Championship.
His time in charge of England came during a coaching profession that lasted for more than 40 years and saw him handle in eight distinct places.
Eriksson most recently held the position of sporting director for Karlstad in Sweden, but he resigned from that position last year and revealed his switch tumor status in January.
As a coach, Eriksson won 18 prizes, including the 1982 UEFA Cup with IFK Goteborg, the 1999-2000 Championship A name with Lazio, plus three Primeira Liga titles during his day with Benfica. He was also the first boss to get league and cup double in three different countries.
In January 2001 he became the first international manager to take command of the England national team, succeeding Kevin Keegan in the position. His high points with England included a 5-1 get over Germany in Munich during qualifier for the 2002 World Cup, a battle with culminated in David Beckham's soon free-kick against Greece at Old Trafford.
After standing over following the 2006 World Cup, he spent a year in command at Manchester City, while a magic at Leicester City followed in 2010. He may also control clubs and national team in Mexico, Ivory Coast, China and the Philippines.
American followers were able to suggest an emotional goodnight to the Swede earlier this year, when he was in charge of a Dublin donation team for a match against Ajax at Anfield in March.
" I was a little bit crying", he said following the match. That will be a lifelong treasure. To stay on the bench for England has been my wish my entire life and now it happened. Bless you to Liverpool for giving me the opportunity".
