Fulham and the Ligue 1 winger did not sell on a Premier League trip.
Fulham had everything in place to sign winger Ernest Nuamah from French side Lyon … right up until he collapsed the deal by unhelpfully going missing.
According to a report from European newspaper L'Equipe, The Cottagers should have been cautious about the deal's hopes when the 20-year-old broke down in tears during his health. They continued regardless, but because he was so hysterical at the thought of putting the final touches on the Craven Cottage switch, he vanished without a trace and even his agent could n't find him to finish the paperwork.
Nuamah was unable to leave his present Lyon base. He may be at Groupama Stadium until at least January due to his disappearing behavior, which means the transfer date did not have to be confirmed.
As getting to the point of conducting a clinical suggests, all the other events involved had reached a sufficient agreement, the north London pub would pay around €19million for his service.
However, it appears that no one had examined the thought of the person at the heart of the package. He was n't entirely on board, despite the tearful Nuamah fleeing from the final formalities.
It required Lyon user John Textor, who has connections to Everton and is also involved with Crystal Palace, to write an apology letter to Fulham for how the package turned out. Eventually, the winger's agent later discovered that the player had been resentful toward the deal because of it because of his love for Lyon.
Players who take their futures into their own hands can frequently find themselves "frozen out" of first-team activities, but this is n't the case here, with Textor reportedly guaranteeing Nuamah his place at the club.
Before being cut out of the second Ligue 1 game as his transfer story grew, he has previously played in two of Lyon's three games this summer. The Ghana global made a permanent loan package with RWD Molenbeek from Belgium last year, where they were both involved in Textor's ownership of the country.
He scored three goals and added two aids for Lyon next word when he appeared 33 times overall.
