Previous England, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton director Rafael Benitez would like to get up into Premier League control
Rafa Benitez is being practical about the amount he is likely to enter at and will be on the phone for any task offers that may come his way from the Premier League this year.
In his first winter at Liverpool, Benitez led them to the Champions League and was on the verge of regaining that success two years later when he made his first appearance in England in 2004.
As a result of unhappy stints at Chelsea and Everton, Newcastle United's tenure as manager was followed by stints at clubs worldwide like Inter, Napoli, Real Madrid, and Celta Vigo.
Rafa Benitez reveals that he has previously turned down Premier League affords but is now open to suggestions.
At this point in his management career, Benitez is conscious that he is unlikely to land a job at one of the top clubs, but he claims he would have to "make a choice" if a membership in a league club decline wanted his services.
Speaking on the Stick to Football radio, brought to you by Sky Bet, Benitez said: “I’m thinking about taking a career in the Premier League. That is not simple because I had provides – believe me, I had five or six presents from teams at the bottom of the table.
“ I am reasonable. I have the interest, I have the knowledge, I have the knowledge so I can make a difference. And the approach, I like to be on the pitch coaching people and improving people, small things.
" Anthony Gordon is one of the cases, so we can improve people and make things happen.
“But, there are not very many [job offers at the top of the table]. Chelsea did not accept me, just like Manchester United does not.
There are also teams I wo n't coach because I wo n't be there. Therefore, the team at the middle of the table, bottom of the table, they start firing professionals and therefore you have to make a choice.
" I want to coach in the Premier League, and this bottom-of-the-table team is coming with a job," I said. ”
