Paul Ince has criticised Manchester United's management, despite the fact that Erik ten Hag appears to be staying in command for the remainder of the campaign.
Manchester United's delayed decision to keep Erik ten Hag on as boss is a sign of" full crazy" behind the scenes, says Paul Ince, who also blasted their transfer method as "diabolical".
Ten Hag's tenure in his post-season position will be determined by reports this week.
The Dutchman made a tough year at Old Trafford, where United fell to seventh place in the Premier League, but was eventually rewarded with an amazing FA Cup victory over Manchester City.
But, Ince, a former United winger, has not been impressed by how things have turned out in Manchester.
" When it comes to Manchester United's inside assessment, I think there's a lack of appreciation for Erik ten Hag, I really do. It's full crazy what's going on around", Ince told Bet365.
They need to stop believing that they need to stay Louis van Gaal because he won the FA Cup, which is excellent, but look at Louis van Gaal winning the FA Cup and being fired the following day.
" The Premier League, that's your bread and butter. Where do you accomplish the 38 Premier League games? They finished seventh, which is nowhere near nice enough.
" It has n't been good enough for a long, long time. With Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth joining, they might think things could get better next month.
It seems to me that they are trying to find different managers who are willing to work for Manchester United, and having meetings with Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino is disrespectful to the manager of the football team.
As Ten Hag's strain increased under new owners INEOS, Roberto De Zerbi, Pochettino, and Tuchel were just a few names that were linked to the management position at United.
And past England worldwide Ince, who won more than 200 games for the team and made two Premier League titles while playing for United for six years, blasted what he saw as overt disrespect.
I'd love to imagine that my coworkers are conversing with other managers while you're working, and that I'm leading a sports team. Certainly there has to be a lack of value," Ince continued.
" There has to be and I think it's so harsh on Ten Hag I really, really do. You would only want to hear, in that location, whether you are keeping me or not.
" Let me go if I'm going because it's possible that I'll be traveling elsewhere before the year starts."
" But do n't play this game where you are calling other managers, Pochettino or Roberto De Zerbi or whoever, before making your decision.
You have to ask if they have 100 % faith in Ten Hag if they are really meeting managers and making it known that they are gathering professionals because it has been two and a half days and it shows a lack of regard.
It was n't just the club's hesitation over Ten Hag's future that drew the ire of Ince, but also their recent work in the transfer market.
After a number of disappointing windows, Ince suggested that Dan Ashworth join as Technical Director. Ince argued that things could n't have been any more different than they were under Sir Alex Ferguson in his day.
" We've seen that the next five years, six years of selection at Manchester United has been wicked. It truly, truly has", Ince said.
Sir Alex Ferguson told me when I first joined Manchester United that he had been monitoring me for two or three years to see if I was capable plenty. He then did the same with Roy Keane, and you now have a good time for 60 or 70 million weight.
" That's what we're seeing at the time with United. They are investing a lot of money in players who have n't yet produced consistently strong performances year after year.
I understand that because different clubs may decide to purchase the person, but I believe United needs to do so in terms of recruitment. Because if you look through that group, there's a lot of troubles it.
" When you look at United and the way they're playing and look at the players they've got, ( finishing ) eighth does n't surprise me. It really does n't.
Dan Ashworth's arrival should alter things, but the hiring process must be spot-on, making it a problem next year.
