The Saudi Pro League may provide Manchester United with a considerable paycheck.

The Red Devils are at the launch of a transitory phase this summer, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos team taking command of their first transfer screen since the billionaire completed his majority stakeholding in the team earlier this year.

With Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro linked in recent weeks, the club has big-money goals in mind, but because of their recent transfer failures, profit and sustainability regulations ( PSR ) are being applied, so funds must also be raised.

The future of captain Bruno Fernandes has been the subject of speculation this year, with the 29- yr- ancient having previously been linked with Bayern Munich and also a number of teams in Saudi Arabia.

And it would look like that latter option could be coming into play, amid a report from Teamtalk that the player has been given the green light by Manchester United to open transfer talks with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund ( PIF ).

Al Nassr and Al Ittihad, both owned by the Proceeding, are said to be leading the race, with Fernandes understood to be favouring a move to Al Nassr, where he would be able to link up with his Portugal partner Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to the report, PIF involvement began in November, with Manchester United's odds increased by not making it to the Champions League.

Following Euro 2024, Fernandes ' Portugal team was knocked out on Friday night in the quarter-finals when they lost to France on sanctions, so a meeting is expected to take place.

Teamtalk add that if Fernandes is offered something that is too good to decline, they would approve his departure, despite the Red Devils ' desire to keep hold of him.
