Less than 48 hours after the Euro 2024 last battle to Spain, Gareth Southgate announced his resignation as England boss.

The battle in Berlin marked Southgate's 102nd and last match in charge of the Three Lions as he called time on an eight-year charm in charge of the national team that brought about a World Cup semi-final looks and two German Championship final images.

Gary Neville, a previous England defender, expressed his gratitude on X on how well he did his career.

Jamie Carragher continued with the statement," It's been a great trip for everyone involved over the past eight times." Two championships, semi final & a fourth last in Gareth Southgate's four games is a very difficult act to follow"!

Southgate was even thanked by nobility, with the Prince of Wales posting:" Gareth, I want to congratulate you- not as the President of the FA, but as an England lover.
