In what many believe could be the ideal work interview, Lee Carsley will take England through the tournaments in September.
Lee Carsley, according to Alan Shearer, may surprise a dozen as he gears up for his first match in charge of England.
Gareth Southgate's summers departure, which included the Three Lions taking on the Republic of Ireland and Finland over the following month, led to Carsley, 50, taking over the position. Having earned his bands principally with England's Under-21 area, the former Everton midfielder is the sportsbooks favourite to get over on a continuous basis.
Southgate being a less-popular choice prior to his appointment, it seems as though Carsley is about acclimatized to the FA's job audition process. Shearer acknowledges that there is n't a lot of opportunities to manage at this level.
" It's an amazing opportunity for Lee Carsley", the original Newcastle United forward told Betfair lately. " We've seen it happen with Spain and Luis de la Fuente, it might have been underwhelming when he was appointed the Spanish boss, but with his victory in the youth groups, it finally worked for them in the Euros also.
" They were the best team, and they played the best sports. This is a great option for Lee because it's impossible to have success if you go out and find a big-name boss as well. He knows a lot of the people, he's brought some new people into the club to liven things up a bit too. The job may be his if he wins the first few matches. It's an amazing chance for him."
Most notable is Carsley's role in England's children team's 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, where many members of that club were called up for senior roles in his first senior squad. Morgan Gibbs-White, Cole Palmer, and Angel Gomes all received the smile for their potential contributions to the 50-year-old's inauguration.
