Given his relations and sponsorship deals this summer, he might find himself in trouble for his choice of clothing, though.
Lineker appears to have broken BBC rules by displaying his personal Second men'swear line on television, according to reports from The Telegraph.
The original Barcelona and England international striker appears in virtual promotional material that was released last year.
The 63-year-old wore a green T-shirt for a half-time only to add a sage green coat, which was also on sale from Next.
According to BBC guidelines," Presenters or other people are prohibited from appearing on television in clothes or using goods or services that they have contracted to market, promote, or otherwise accept, or in which they have a particular financial interest," according to online resources available here.
" I'm not always beautiful at putting things up", he said in an interview last month, after Next approached him.
" At least it then makes it simpler to dress for activities. He said," I have all these pictures so I can remember what goes with what."
Lineker even promoted the Second cooperation in another meeting with The Guardian, explaining:" I think it's because it's English – from Leicester. And then they delivered a spectrum to us, which I liked a lot.
" It's very flattering that, in my grand old age, I may also do something like this."
The possible mishap has not yet been commented on by Lineker or the BBC.
