Users of Manchester United, INEOS, appear to have made a choice regarding Old Trafford.
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS arrived at Manchester United's stadium, Old Trafford, at the start of 2024, the prospect has been the subject of heated conversations.
The traditional ground has often come under fire over recent years due to the state of disarray it presently finds itself in following years of neglect under the Glazer family possession.
The important conversations have revolved around redeveloping Old Trafford or building a new stadium completely, with accounts frequently suggesting that a new stadium is favoured by the new government.
Manchester United set for Old Trafford destruction
Similar to the idea of downsizing Old Trafford to be converted into a stadium for the children's team and the club, as seen at Manchester City's amazing Etihad complex, was also a part of plans to build a new stadium.
This plan was met with widespread acceptance from fans, especially those of the women's team who now have to travel to Leigh Sports Village for house matches- a union stadium located on the outskirts of Manchester near Warrington.
Such a move may also see a traditional American location left standing, ensuring the protection of a position held dear in fans ' hearts.
However, according to the Daily Mail, INEOS are now set to go back on these plans after deeming the idea of downscaling unrealistic should they opt to build a brand new stadium for the men's side.
Club officials believe the reduction would act as a secondary project on top of the estimated £2 billion outlay required to fund the new build.
The club's women's side has already been forced out of their own training facilities in order to accommodate redevelopments on Carrington's men's side as well as a number of important players leaving over the summer.
