England and Serbia square off in Gelsenkirchen for Euro 2024, but the construction has been hampered by unpleasant scenes in Germany's roads.
In the days leading up to the Three Lions ' opening team stage match against Serbia in Group C of Euro 2024, apparently, England supporters were involved in obscene scenes in Germany.
Germany will be an hour and a half away of Gelsenkirchen, where 20, 000 ticketed England fans are expected to show up, and more than half as many people will show up on the event despite not having purchased any tickets. The game will begin at 8 p.m. in Gelsenkirchen.
Thugs allegedly supporting England staged an assault on a table in northern Gelsenkirchen at 3:30 pm, according to The Guardian, throwing chairs and bottles at the crowd. Serb enthusiasts responded, according to The Mirror.
German authorities step up following Euro 2024 violence.
German police in riot gear immediately drove up in vans and chased the suspects away, perhaps as a result of the undercover trouble-spotting operation in each of the host towns.
A local police officer and at least one England lover have been alleged to have been hurt in the altercation and received treatment for a severely bleeding scalp wound.
The table was then sealed off by police, but no detention have yet been reported. Apparently, the tragedy had ended right away.
Prior to the Netherland's triumph over Poland, German authorities had earlier killed a man in the calf in Hamburg after he threatened the police with an" axe-like object" and an "molotov cocktail" – a fuel-filled violent drink. No one else was hurt in the affair, which happened near to a group of French supporters in town during the game.
The authorities have not yet determined whether those fans were the target or whether the suspect's motivations were somehow related to sports.
