England barely avoided an embarrassing battle at Euro 2024 after a 2- 1 get over Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen
England combo Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham have been handed a crutch after their steps following the 2- 1 get over Slovakia.
After forcing more time in Gelsenkirchen with a stunning overhead kick, Bellingham was caught making a vulgar gesture in the direction of Slovakia's chair. Any "obscene sign" or "offensive or insulting action" may result in a dark card, under the game's principles crafted by UEFA and FIFA. The Real Madrid star eventually stated on social media that it was an "inside prank movement" towards his companions who were at the game and that he meant no harm or anger. " Nothing but regard for how that Slovakia team played tomorrow", wrote the England playmaker.
The on-field affair, which has since gained traction on social media in the last 24 hours, is expected to be reviewed by UEFA. According to a statement from The Athletic, the assumption is that Bellingham is improbable to be punished for the movement that followed his 95th- second equaliser.
After being caught up in a fight with Slovakia director Francesco Calzona, Declan Rice is expected to be allowed to enjoy himself. After the last whistle had blown following England's success, Rice appeared to have uttered some offensive words in the 55-year-old's own voice.
Rice was pushed in the stomach by Calzona after the Slovakia director approached Umat Meler, the ref, at complete- time. The Arsenal midfielder was not given a warning for his actions in the altercation, but Ivan Toney and Aaron Ramsdale quickly helped to calm the situation.
