Denmark and England are playing each other.

The Three Lions kicked off their Euro 2024 strategy on a good note, just edging out Serbia in a 1- 0 triumph in Gelsenkirchen, introducing themselves in Germany attractively on Sunday, calmly pinging passes around the opposition's half and bagging an earlier goal courtesy of the obvious Jude Bellingham.

Having got their aim, but, it slipped into an all- too- comfortable routine of parking men behind the ball. Gareth Southgate has struggled to overcome this condemnation throughout his England career, and his performance against the Eagles will have had little to do to change it.

It's the same XI as played against Serbia.

The opening game of a major tournament for England was a rare treat, so the eventual victory should n't be taken lightly. However, as Southgate prepares for the tougher test of Kasper Hjulmand's Denmark, Southgate may have to make some important decisions.

Foden was playing left, but he is still in with Alexander-Arnold in center. Trippier, however, is not a normal left- up – but this is likely to be an opportunity for Southgate to give everyone another chance, back of a more difficult knockout stage.

Who will play the attacking midfield role is the main decision in the game. Bellingham won the matchup against Serbia, and it appeared to pay off when he scored the opener, but it meant pushing Phil Foden, the Premier League player of the season, to the left, where he was a little less effective.

In DataVictory's view, it makes sense for Foden to start in his most natural position, having seen what he can produce throughout the season for Manchester City, arguably one of the best domestic teams in world football. Bellingham can quickly adjust and still be in charge of the game's tempo because of his ability to assist in defensive areas, as frequently demonstrated in his time as the host nation for Borussia Dortmund.

Take your pick from Cole Palmer, Anthony Gordon, and Eberechi Eze, because Southgate's side has some talented attackers in that wide role. The England boss will have to make another important choice, but it's difficult to disagree on whether any of the trio should be made.
