The remarks made by England's slow stop at Euro 2024 this summers by Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have been refuted. In a recent press conference for England, three Lions captain Harry Kane was asked what he thought of the remarks. He was asked whether the noise from abroad did n't help when trying to establish speed at a major event.
Sheare and Lineker, who have a significant role in the BBC since their pensions, insist that their remarks are accurate and appropriate, and that they are just making a copy of what every other media store has done in the last few weeks. Speaking on Monday's season of the Rest is Football radio, Lineker began by clearing up what he meant by using the term s*** to identify England's effectiveness against Denmark in Frankfurt. " We've been critical of England's performances, as has pretty much every journalist, but you know how it happens", said Lineker. We've already discussed this, about journalists being hesitant to pose their own concerns.
" I guarantee whoever that was was likely important themselves. They do it because they are to afraid to ask their own questions, and they do it to stir the pot. Harry is immediately placed there. I believed he was good at answering it.
He claims that we have obligations as former England people, that we should know better, and that we never won something or words in that regard. Okay, he's definitely appropriate". But I did say one thing. We want to be sad and critical, which is the last thing we want to be. The England squad needs to perform well on the field, according to us. When England plays also, is the best punditry of all.
Shearer echoed the same voice shared by his BBC chum, stating:" It's important we rarely get specific. That's the most important thing. We must admit that they were awful. If England were beautiful we'd say they were beautiful, that's the way it is.
" You always get the proper response on the pitch as a person." I have no problem what we said, I would n't take anything back we said. Actually poor England. I think the vast majority of the country, and even the kids in the crew, did know they were terrible against Denmark. There were hardly any positive".
