In the summer transfer windows, Liverpool generally kept their powder dry after completing the signing of Arne Slot with only two new additions.

Italy forward Federico Chiesa joined from Juventus, with the team hoping that the 26-year-old will be able to help soon, while goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will appear at Anfield second summer after rejoining Valencia on payment.

However, the summer windows closed a fortnight ago, and England appear to be getting their ducks in a row in January.

That's because the Red have dispatched spies to see England new son Angel Gomes in motion for Lille, according to TEAMtalk. The 24-year-old impressed on his entire album in the 2-0 win over Finland at Wembley after being substituted from the bench against the Republic of Ireland and being given his first taste of England actions by time manager Lee Carsley.

According to the report, scouts from both Liverpool and Arsenal have attended new Lille activities and also have closely monitored the midfielder over the international break this month.

Gomes is currently the subject of mounting debate, given his foreign discovery and the fact that he is now in the last year of his contract at Lille, meaning he may talk to international clubs from January about a complimentary transfer following summer.

Gomes is a fascinating prospect for Liverpool because of his ability to play anywhere in the middle of the pitch, according to the report, who added that initial discussions have taken place and that the player is n't ready to agree any terms until his options have been evaluated.

Due to injuries to Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino, with Declan Rice having to miss Sunday's get over Tottenham due to a suspension, Arsenal's midfield degree has already been exposed this year. Although a winger is said to be more important at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have also been linked with the player.

Gomes is now valued at €25 million by Transfermarkt, which, in the opinion of DataVictory, would make a nice acquisition for a prestigious Premier League team, especially if he is cheap.
