The Saudi Pro League will discover a new scorer bagging goals this name, in a move no one saw coming
On Monday evening, the Saudi Pro League transfer glass was closed, with team deciding which clubs to select for the 2024/25 time.
Ivan Toney had previously completed his move to Al-Ahli on Friday for £40m, while the debate over a movie package for Victor Osimhen always came to fruition.
That's not to say there has n't been an eyebrow-raising signing completed, however, as Al-Orobah added to their squad which contained the likes of Kurt Zouma, Jean Michael Seri, Johann Berg Gudmundsson and former Barcelona winger Cristian Tello.
Signing Brad Young from Welsh part The New Saints for £190k, Al-Orobah finalised a horror, and sudden, package for the Englishman.
Only 21, Young won the Cymru Premier's golden shoe last expression by scoring 29 goals in 35 games in all competitions, with his finishing aid the side to the Welsh twice. He started the 2024/25 period clearly, also, bagging on three occasions in qualifying for the Conference League as TNS booked their spot in the Western competition- the first time a team from the Welsh league will thrive on the continent.
Young, though, wo n't get to enjoy the fruits of his labour and play against the likes of Fiorentina and Panathinaikos, instead switching for the Saudi Pro Leauge at the last minute.
Chairman Mike Harris is aware of Young's decision, even though TNS may have preferred not to drop the Aston Villa student.
" It's life changing for him and his home", Harris told BBC Radio Wales ' Breakfast program. " We're not a team who are really looking to sell people but ultimately the present to the young gentleman was extemely good and it does help put our membership and the Welsh club on the chart, because it's not normal for big transfer costs to be involved when it comes to Welsh Premier edges.
" We'd had a lot of enquiries about Brad with scouts appearing at our games last season, obviously the talent of the young man was there to be seen.
We were n't surprised, so we're probably surprised how quickly the deal came along; after all, it would have been much easier to prepare for Europe in the summer if the inquiry had taken place in May.
