As a top player suffers a potentially serious injuries at Euro 2024, Arsenal suffers a significant shift setback.
Just weeks prior to the opening of the summer windows, which coincided with the start of the European Championships, Arsenal's transport plans suffered a blast. Kieran Tierney, a left-back, was widely reported to be interested in being sold to raise money, but the 27-year-old appears to have suffered an unfavorable and potentially significant hamstring injury. He was stretchered off an afternoon into Scotland's team stage fight with Switzerland, evidently in stress having hyper- extended his knee, after grabbing his hamstring. His second tissue injury in the past year has resulted in him missing 19 games altogether. However, the Scotsman's damage history goes even further: he has frequently been sidelined for health reasons and has missed about 100 days since having knee surgery in 2022.
After having already loaned the keeper to Authentic Sociedad for the duration of 2023/24, Mikel Arteta may have been considering cashing him out of his roster. The Gunners could have been attempting to balance the books with a clever sales, with a price of just over £10 million, according to Transfermarkt and a reportedly £120, 000 per year income.
Tierney, a British national and a member of the British league, paid a record-breaking transfer fee of £25 million for the pair. He has so far contributed 124 images for Arsenal, helping them win the FA Cup in 2019/20.
He started both of Scotland's primary two Euros games against Germany in the opening game and has 47 caps worldwide.
No further information has been provided regarding the team's final group game against Hungary on Sunday, despite Steve Clarke's already confirmed that he wo n't be playing Tierney.
With Thomas Partey slated to keep this summer, the club has also been linked with movements for Pedro Neto, Martin Zubimendi, and Amadou Onana. On August 17th, they kick off their Premier League battle against Wolves.
