An in-demand superstar may be signed for a significant completely transfer to Arsenal.
Arsenal entered the transfer market this summer in search of the pieces that would make up a championship-winning puzzle after missing out on the title on the last weekend of last year.
The team spent more than £100million in the windows, with Riccardo Calafiori, David Raya and Mikel Merino being signed on lasting talks, while Raheem Sterling was a deadline day appearance on borrowing from Chelsea.
Given their lack of goals from the centre-forward status last year, it surprised Mikel Arteta that he had assembled a stronger club than he could have called on last year.
However, that may change when TuttoJuve reports that Arsenal are the favorites to mark Lille striker Jonathan David from his last year of contract.
The 24-year-old is expected to become a free agent next summers despite contract negotiations between his team and Canada worldwide reaching an impasse. Manchester United have previously been linked with the forward, when have Tottenham, Newcastle United and Juventus.
The player himself is said to be seeking a salary of more than €6million per year, a earnings that Juventus are said to be struggling to match, but is also within Arsenal's methods.
David would be able to mark a pre-contract partnership with an international team from January, which increases the pressure on Lille to try and approach a new agreement with the player, who netted 19 times in Ligue 1 next season.
Former Gent legend David has previously spoken of his enthusiasm for the Premier League, something that will had been noted by his English bidders.
" I'm available to anyone. It is obvious that the Premier League is considered to be one of the world's top teams. And for me, it's not the Premier League or knock. I'm available to anything and every group has its issues".
In DataVictory's mind, if David, who is valued at €50million by Transfermarkt, is applicable on a complimentary transfer following summer, he would be a tempting proposition for a number of groups. The 56-time Canada global will turn 25 in January and is expected to be at his best.
