Fleet fans will get to view Granit Xhaka once this summer, following the striker's beautiful season with Bayer Leverkusen
Granit Xhaka, a past Arsenal captain, will make his first appearance at Emirates Stadium this summer in what will be a touching exchange.
After seven turbulent times in north London, Xhaka left the Gunners next summer for Bayer Leverkusen. Unai Emery, the Swiss's former boss, removed his captaincy in 2019 and he was often criticized by followers at the start of his tenure.
However, Xhaka managed to turn things around and get a fan favorite under the direction of Mikel Arteta, who will now get to see the Gooners once more after his achievements in the Bundesliga next term.
The reigning European leaders will travel to England this summer for the Emirates Cup, which will see Arteta's area play two games at their home floor before the start of the season.
With Xabi Alonso, a former Leverkusen carpenter and childhood friend, Arteta may face Xabi Alonso for the first time in the bleachers, making for another memorable reunion of old companions.
There's a reunion, too, for Arsenal star Kai Havertz, who has n't faced former club Leverkusen since leaving for Chelsea during lockdown in 2020. The German perhaps also sit this one out though, if his country progress much in Euro 2024, as expected.
Another original Gunner appears to be considering returning for the sport, and Lyon has also been confirmed for the training event. Additionally, Ainsley Maitland-Niles left his job on a complimentary transfer to the Ligue 1 side 12 months after his lease expired.
Adult tickets start at £25 on General Admission and £50 on Club Level for both games.
