With words agreed on a five-year package, Arsenal are on the verge of a significant filing.
After making personal connections with a significant destination, Arsenal are about to sign for the summer.
Manager Mikel Arteta has stated that the transfer glass will soon become stressful, citing that" with the new]PSR] requirements, there are certain things we have to value and be aware of, and then certainly the Euros and Copa America are slowing all down: preferably then it is going to pick up a little bit."
Following his loan spell at Brentford last year, the only thing Arsenal has done is confirm the permanent signing of David Raya. However, Arteta may soon be adding another face as he prepares to take Manchester City to the top of the Premier League.
Italian outlet Calciomercato says that Euro 2024 star, Riccardo Calafiori, is "very close" to becoming a Gunner, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Arsenal have agreed a five- year deal worth €4 million per year for the Italian.
Another Italian outlet, TuttoMercatoWeb, recently claimed that Calafiori's club Bologna have already" said yes" to a fee – though this is unclear from the two most recent reports.
According to dataVictory, Juventus had an initial interest in Calafiori, but Arsenal's reluctance to follow suit has led to their omission. Given how frequently European clubs appear to have used Premier League clubs as "bait" to raise players ' salaries, the closeness of a move is intriguing, in our opinion.
It looked exactly like this, but Calafiori should take the place of Oleksandr Zinchenko in that position given Arteta's obvious need for a defensively strong left-footer at left-back.
Arsenal have been said to have a good relationship with selling club Bologna, stretching back to their 2021 capture of Takehiro Tomiyasu, which may well have paved the way for this move.
Calafiori is worth €30m, according to Transfermarkt.
