Raheem Sterling was left out of the Chelsea crew for their opening match of the Premier League season against Manchester City
The current state of Raheem Sterling has been greatly impacted by Alan Shearer's analysis.
Fans were left bemused when Chelsea's forward was omitted from the game crew to experience Manchester City this week because the 29-year-old had been a key player for the Blues ' pre-season arrangements under new manager Enzo Maresca.
As a result, a spokeswoman for Sterling chose to publish a statement regarding his non-inclusion, admitting that the original England gentleman was under no illusions he was going to be dropped and that both he and his team receive apparent communication over his coming.
The speech that was posted online read," Raheem Sterling has a three-year contract with Chelsea Football Club." He had a favorable pre-season under the new coach, with whom he had a great working relationship, and he returned to England two weeks earlier to begin individual training.
" He is committed, as always, to delivering at the highest degree for Chelsea FC and the fans, who he holds in high regard. We anticipated that Raheem would participate in this week's game in some capacity given his inclusion in standard membership pre-match material this week.
" As a station, we have always had good speech with, and confidence from, Chelsea FC in relation to Raheem's coming at the Club, but we look forward to gaining quality on the situation. Until then, we will continue to support Raheem's desire to start the fresh time positively".
Whilst it remains to be seen only what lies ahead for Sterling, BBC journalist Alan Shearer admitted what he had heard on the subject, whilst offering some additional suggestions for the Three Lions worldwide.
" I'm told that he's trained all pre-season and was told on Friday that he's probably best off looking somewhere for a pub because they've brought different people in in that place", he said via The Rest Is Football radio. As difficult as that is, and it will be for him because, as far as I can recall, Chelsea has never been disrespectful.
" To have been told that on Friday, that would be very frustrating. This is not going to get Chelsea's first instance of player upheaval, I repeat. This will be a problem that Enzo Maresca will have to deal with all winter.
Sterling's commitment at Stamford Bridge runs until 2027, which could suggest that the experienced forward may soon face the same fate as Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku, Trevor Chalobah, and Armando Broja this summers.
