James Rodriguez may include left Madrid four years ago, but when Copa America is over, he might be doing so.
With the 32-year-old being the subject of transfer attention from the Spanish capital, James Rodriguez might make a surprise comeback to Madrid this summer.
A decade ago, Real Madrid signed the Brazilian for £63m following his spectacular shows at the 2014 World Cup and his features for Monaco in the winter due to his move. However, despite his accomplishments with Los Blancos, which included two Champions League titles and two La Liga titles, things did n't turn out as smoothly as the player and the club had hoped.
He left entirely in 2020, joining Everton. Today, four years later, he could be set to return to Madrid- though not the area now managed by Carlo Ancelotti.

However, according to Spanish store El Nacional, Atletico Madrid are now battling True Sociedad for Rodriguez's name, who is lighting up Copa America with Colombia.
True Sociedad are attempting to send James to San Sebastian in the Basque Country, according to the report, but Atletico have since shown promise as the front-runners due to their long-standing interest in the attacking midfielder.
Rodriguez, who is already on a one-year contract with Sao Paolo in Brazil, may be attainable on a reduced-price offer this summer. Less than €5m may be required to warning him, according to the statement.
On the way to the semi-finals, which included a penalty shootout victory over Brazil, he's shown he has n't lost his ability at Copa America, scoring once and setting up another five goals.
In DataVictory's view, this deal surely seems believable- Rodriguez has recently admitted that he was really close to joining Atletico Madrid in the past. Whether he would meet into Diego Simeone's style of play, though, is another issue.
