Duke's Cooper Flagg, good top pick in 2025 NBA Draft, symptoms sneaker deal with New Balance

Duke rookie and good 2025 No. Cooper Flagg, the first NBA draft pick, has signed a multi-year support deal with New Balance.

Cooper Flagg is making money off of what promises to be a successful basketball career before Duke actually takes the judge.

Flagg, projected to be the No. 1 get in the 2025 NBA Draft, has signed a multi-year sneaker deal with New Balance, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. According to Boardroom, the arrangement will allow Flagg to spend one NIL year while he is a student before paying him for several seasons of playing in the NBA.

New Balance has a house link to Flagg, who grew up in Newport, Maine, before moving to Montverde, Florida, to sing for Montverde Academy. The boot company has a fabrication shop in Skowhegan, Maine, 25 yards away from Flagg's youth home.

" I grew up wearing New Balance, and I appreciate their true connection to my community", said Flagg said in a speech, via Boardroom. " The focus and development of the brand in sports and our shared beliefs and past drew me in".

Flagg, 17, explained to Wojnarowski that his family went to New Balance camp sales for back-to-school buying when he was growing up, establishing roots that no other company was with him.

WIth New Balance, Flagg joins a lineup of sports skills that includes Kawhi Leonard, Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray and Cameron Brink. Additionally, the business has agreements with track and field legend Quincy Wilson and volleyball star Coco Gauff.

As a senior, the 6-foot-9 Flagg averaged 16.5 items, 7.5 touchdowns, 3.8 help, 3.7 snatches and 3.7 stones for a Montverde Academy team that went 34–0 and won a regional name. He received honours like Naismith Prep Player of the Year, Mr. Basketball USA, and Gatorade National Player of the Year.

Before his freshman season, Flagg reclassified from the 2025 group to 2024, making him ready for the 2025 NBA Draft because he will move 18 years old as a rookie. He committed to Duke next October, after also being recruited passionately by UConn, Kansas and Kentucky.

Flagg's scrimmage performance for the Select Team impressed the pre-Olympic education station in Las Vegas. He was the only institution player who had been invited to play for the Select Team, easing his excitement of his first year at Duke and his NBA prospects.
