Manchester United are close to closing in on a package for a player Erik ten Hag has previously worked for.
As the Dutchman adds new faces to his club, Manchester United has reached a deal to signal another of Erik ten Hag's past people.
In the current Manchester United part, three have recently played under Ten Hag at Ajax: Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez and Antony. As the Red Devils manager searches for the winning solution for his team, Mathijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong have both been strongly linked to joining Ten Hag at Old Trafford in recent years.
That trend is set to maintain this summer, as Manchester United have agreed a deal with one more of the Dutchman's original costs.
Wessair Mazraoui, a full-back who previously played for Ten Hag at Ajax, and Manchester United have reportedly agreed a price between £15 million and £20 million with Bayern Munich.
Mazraoui made his Browser comeback under the Dutchman in early 2018, when being named the Ajax Talent of the Year in 2018/19 after playing 48 games in his early 20s.
The Morocco global left Achilles at the same time as Ten Hag, in the summer of 2022, departing for Bayern Munich as the boss joined Manchester United. Although the future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a factor in the agreement, the couple may be reunited at Old Trafford this summers.
Wan-Bissaka would need to keep for Mazraoui, according to the report, to make room for both the club and the income budget. The Englishman now has only one time remaining on his recent package, with Manchester United seeking a £15m for the right-back they signed five years ago for £45m.
Ten Hag believes that Mazraoui's signing could improve Antony's form, despite Galatasaray's interest in the Brazilian now. The pair, who played on the right, won subsequent Eredivisie titles while succeeding in Amsterdam up.
In DataVictory's perspective, this is a transfer that certainly makes sense, as Ten Hag evidently enjoys working with people moulded by Ajax. For a team like Manchester United, the cost is largely unimportant, especially if the majority of it is recovered by selling Wan-Bissaka, which may prove a little more challenging.
