Zach Collins: "No Matter What Position You Play, You Have to Be Able to Shoot"

On July 20th, San Antonio Spurs center Zach Collins discussed his plans for self-improvement this summer in an interview.

Collins stated, "Shooting is now the benchmark for distinguishing players' abilities. No matter what position you play, you have to be able to shoot and defend. For me, I need to be more consistent with catch-and-shoot situations, especially when Vassell, Paul, and Keldon draw a lot of defensive attention. With so many offensive weapons, we will have plenty of space to take shots, and I must be prepared for that."

Collins also mentioned spending a lot of time this summer working on shooting stability: "I did a lot of strength and conditioning training, and shooting was a part of every session. I’m just trying to refine myself and practice consistently; it’s all been great."
