Real Madrid and Manchester United are officially ready to compete for attention this summer for one of the most interesting young people in Europe.

After Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS party took over Old Trafford's football operations earlier this year, United are in for a significant summer of action in the transfer business. The Red Devils have already been linked with a number of major players.

Bayern Munich defender Matthijs De Ligt and Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee are among those on the list, but the Red Devils are also interested in other priorities. Director Erik ten Hag is said to be especially interested in strengthening the up line after a hard time in 2023/24.

Instead of paying high transfer costs and salary to older people, Manchester United's new strategy is to bring in younger players who can develop and grow.

One player who has been linked is Lille centre- up Leny Yoro and according to The Athletic, United are ready to fight it with True Madrid for the 18- year- older.

The teen, a European youth worldwide who made 44 looks for Lille next season, is thought to be the favorite to mark.

According to reports in Spain, Madrid are simply willing to pay around £34 million for the centre-back, who is out of lease starting next summer.

However, United are understood to be happy to meet the keeper's income requirements.

The Red Devils need to hint at least one centre- up this summertime after another Frenchman, Raphael Varane, left the club at the end of the year. Following a challenging couple of years, Harry Maguire may have met United's needs.
