The Netherlands were back when Cody Gakpo delivered a quality performance.
Romania vs. Netherlands started with true energy and vigor after a few slow, cagey final 16 matches at Euro 2024. An early target seemed to be very good from the beginning, and both sides appeared to have attacking intentions.
And one came inside 20 days. The Dutch broke the deadlock through Liverpool's Cody Gakpo, despite some encouraging perform from Romania.
He beat Florin Nita, who was stumbling, by collecting the game on the left, cutting outside, and firing a powerful small shot into the far corner. The goalkeeper may have done much, but the complete was an amazing one yet.

It felt like a necessary trust increase for Ronald Koeman's part, who had looked subdued and somewhat jittery after an unconvincing group stage which included a 3- 2 defeat to Austria and a goalless draw with France.
With the quality in their squad, though, there is no reason they ca n't go far in the tournament, particularly given what looks like a favourable run of fixtures. If they are to beat Romania, they may encounter Austria or Turkey in the quarter- championships.
But there is still plenty of job to do for a Netherlands aspect but to really catch fire. The Dutch was still play a significant role at Euro 2024 if Gakpo and inc. can provide the weapons in the attack.
