Dwayne Bravo has played his last match in the CPL.

Bravo, who turns 41 next month, had intended to retire at the end of CPL 2024, but a groin injury he sustained on Tuesday against the St. Lucia Kings put an end to his CPL job.

When Bravo attempted to catch Kings captain Faf du Plessis in the sixth over, Bravo injured himself. In what turned out to be his final CPL game, he left the field right away after pulling up and did n't bowl a single over. At No. 2, Bravo finally returned to bird. 11 in TKR's tried chase of 219. He managed to experience only one game, which thudded into his knee, and finally retired hurt, struggling to fight off weeping.

" When he pulled up ]injured], it looked very serious", TKR captain Kieron Pollard said after the activity. " Certainly him coming to bat]at No. 11] is not just to win the game, but to recognize the extent of the injury. We're never sure if this will bring him to an end, but nevertheless from the perspective of the team, we just want to say thank you very much for your contributions to cricket and Trinidad and Tobago. He has always been a personable and inspiring figure, so I just want to say thank you. He's never in a good place right now but evidently he's given everything that he has to cricket and cricket has rewarded him as well".

Sunil Narine, who had a triple strain working his way again, was likewise unavailable for TKR's match against Kings. It's understood that Narine's injury is n't as serious as Bravo's, and will return to action soon. As for Andre Russell, who had a hamstring issue at the start of the game, his task is being managed.

Russell pitched in with two innings on Tuesday and with both Bravo and Narine accessible, Pollard brought himself into the assault and bowled his complete complement of innings for the first time in the CPL since 2022.

" I had to take the mantle with DJ]Bravo] going down and Russell is n't 100 % fit", Pollard said. " Narine is not playing because he's not fit through damage. Naturally, I had to handle it and it's great that you're in a position where you have qualified]for the finals ]. Yes, you want to place in the top two, but you end up with no one to help you until the tournament's tail ends. I have n't been bowling much, but it was a good sort of shift for me today. But having said that from the ball view looking at the last handful of games, we have some work to do".

' What a player, what a job, what a person!' - Du Plessis pays tribute to BravoAfter Bravo retired hurt and hobbled off the area, du Plessis embraced him with a hug and eventually paid tribute to the CPL brave. Bravo is the most painted player in the CPL, having won five headings in all, including three with TKR. Before leading the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots to their first name in 2021, he led TKR to back-to-back headings in 2017 and 2018.

Du Plessis had captained Bravo at Texas Super Kings in the USA's Major League Cricket ( MLC ) and had also played alongside Bravo at Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

" Sad to see DJ Bravo finishing in that way", du Plessis said. " In my mind, he's certainly one that I've admired for a long time. Looks like his CPL will come to an end. Just want to explain to him that what a player, what a job, what a gentleman! His cricket would get incredibly well-liked by the locals. He's done so much for everyone around the Caribbean. I would have liked to congratulate him on his exit from the game and clap him out. However, as I previously stated, I was only attempting to survive in the Tarouba temperature. But I feel he]Bravo] needs a specific notice".
