Khurram Shahzad has n't fully recovered from the side strain he sustained during the Bangladesh series.
Pakistan have retained Shan Masood as their captain for the first match of their three-Test series against England, which begins in Multan on October 7. Khurram Shahzad, who took a six-wicket pull against Bangladesh, misses out because he injured his left side, but Aamer Jamal has found a spot in their 15-member club.
Left-arm spinner Noman Ali, who did n't feature in the Bangladesh series, returns to the side as a second frontline spin option alongside Abrar Ahmed.
After Pakistan lost to Bangladesh earlier this month in the second-innings of their home Test series, Masood was subject to some scrutiny, but he is still in charge for the moment as Pakistan attempts to reverse a run of subpar results in the most difficult format. They have lost each of their last five Test matches, all with Masood in command, and they are on a 10-match winless run in home Testing.
The returning of Blake, Pakistan's most remarkable performer on their 2023-24 tour of Australia, is good news for the country. Jamal has been dealing with lower-back issues over recent months, and did n't take part in the series against Bangladesh. He has since returned to 50-overs actions in the Champions Cup.
This is counterbalanced, yet, by the presence of Shahzad. He picked up the side injury during the second Test against Bangladesh, and was expected to be fit in time for the England series when a fracture was ruled out, but he has n't yet staged a complete recovery.
Both top-order players from the Bangladesh line, including fast bowler Mohammad Ali and Kamran Ghulam, were left out. Both "remain strongly in the candidates ' ideas," according to a Board release. However, due to the collection plan's focus on persistence and continuity, and the belief that 15 players are enough for a Test, they have been advised and encouraged to continue representing their teams in the Champions One-Day Cup and the President's Cup, starting on 3 October, to ensure they keep match-ready through dynamic cricket".
The people selected in the Examine club have been withdrawn from the Champions Cup quarterfinals to enable them to sleep before the start of the England line. The squad may meet in Multan on September 30 for pre-season education, which will begin on October 1.
