After a hard IPL 2024 season, MI keeps belief in all-rounder as captain.
Mumbai Indians ( MI ) captain Hardik Pandya will continue despite the team's difficult IPL 2024 season, which saw them finish just behind them for the second time in 17 seasons. MI made the announcement on Thursday, while revealing they had retained Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma, along with Hardik, ahead of the IPL 2025 big bid.
Given that they managed to hold onto players of a significant appearance for an INR 75 crore overall, the retention was quite impressive for MI. They will now have INR 45 billion to create the rest of their club at the big auction.
Bumrah was retained at INR 18 million, becoming MI's leading retention for the first time in his IPL job. Hardik and Suryakumar were retained at INR 16.35 million each, while Rohit was retained at INR 16.30 billion. Tilak was retained for INR 8 billion.
Rohit said he was delighted at being the team's fifth retention. In a film released by the company, he said," I think this is the perfect place for me because I have retired from the style." The preference should be given to the national team's top athletes. That's what I think, and I'm pleased with it.

All I've achieved in my life has been part of Mumbai Indians. Every year is a specific season for playing, and this year will be even more special. After being traded in from the Gujarat Titans and replacing Rohit as captain, Hardik faced a difficult time in the IPL 2024. He was frequently booed at several venues, including the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He just managed 216 runs while taking 11 wickets for a 10.75 business. His strike rate was 143.
