In light of potential England call-ups in the hole office, squadrons make plans for title defense.
Matthew Fisher from Yorkshire has been signed on a one-year deal to help Surrey increase their ball stock in anticipation of a high global workload for their bowlers in 2025.
Fisher, 27 second quarter, has played one Evaluation to day, on England's visit of the Caribbean in 2022, after which he was awarded an ECB rate ball development agreement. He confirmed his enduring features by claiming 18 innings in three games last quarter, to support Yorkshire secure campaign to Division One of the Vitality County Championship.
To date, Fisher has claimed 144 first-class batsmen at 26.58, including a best of 5 for 30 against Derbyshire in 2023. He is also a helpful lower-order dough, with a career-best of 88 against Leicestershire.
Conor McKerr recently left Nottinghamshire, and Surrey have won their third consecutive County Championship despite a glut of England call-ups that have put the famous detail of their squad to the test.
Surrey can anticipate missing Gus Atkinson for important chunks of the season in 2025, and Reece Topley, Jamie Overton, and Sam Curran are likely to miss out on England white-ball duty at crucial times in the campaign.
What's more, Surrey's Australia-born seamer Dan Worrall- possibly the player of the season with 52 wickets at 16.15- will second year become qualified to play for England, and even at the age of 33, he does come into consideration by the federal selectors.

With Conor McKerr leaving the club and the expected England call-ups following summer, it's critical we maintain a quality ball team.
" I actually first met Matt when he was 15, on a visit to his Yorkshire secondary school on behalf of a cricket partner and have followed his career from abroad always since. I then look forward to welcoming him to the Kia Oval and watching him do nicely for Surrey CCC."
