Pakistan's six-hitting has seen plenty of development over subsequent months owing to an increased emphasis on range-hitting under coach Mohammad Wasim
Fatima Sana, Pakistan's captain, does n't want to her team to feel any pressure ahead of their match against India, but believes it's inevitable given the magnitude of the occasion.
Pakistan opened the event with a spectacular win over Sri Lanka, and are riding a new wave of success in terms of growth, not only results.
For instance: Pakistan posted 181, their highest T20I full, during their current set at home against South Africa. In that pitches, they hit as many as six touchdowns, substantially higher than their regular of one every 19 innings between the 2023 and 2024 T20 World Cups.
Mohammad Wasim, their present coach, has incorporated some best methods from the Pakistan Super League, such as the flow of information wherever available, as well as an increased emphasis on range-hitting that was on full perspective in that match against South Africa, with Sana at the center of it herself.
Six-hitting comes with a specific thinking that Sana believes is slowly being rooted into Pakistan's bowling DNA. She believes it was n't always that way.
" If you look at the next set of South Africa, a lot of our women have improved in authority hitting", Sana said. " In the last South Africa line, our team hit six sixes in one match.
" I think the women believe that even if the hitters are standing about, if they hit, they can go for six. It's a good thing that all the women are comfortable in this. Personally, I used to bat a lot before, but I did n't know if I could hit or not. But with that idea then it's become a lot easier."
Wasim has had the support of Hanif Malik, whom he worked with at Multan Sultans, to assist with the range-hitting. Sana thinks that experimenting with various approaches to try to increase is a good place to start, regardless of the outcomes.
" First of all, we always wanted to play attacking cricket," Sana said". I have been watching that whichever team we played against- we 've]tried to sing ] attacking cricket. As a bowling, I once felt that the first game was hit by the opponent. I desired pitchers who could condemn the bowler right away on the first pitch for our team. We have worked a bit on this and you will see the effect quickly maybe."
Sana believes that leading by example herself is the best way to effect this shift in the batting order. On Thursday, Sana's essential 20-ball 30 provided Pakistan the late motivation they needed to apply the press on Sri Lanka.
Sana spent a lot of time with the coaching staff while striking the game, including one of the first for range-hitting ahead of the India game. These enhancements come from a strong desire to be the" amount one allrounder."
She said," I often wanted to be the number one all-arounder because bowling is a team sport, but the team wins when you are good at it all, even when you are fine on the industry," "because certainly it's a team game." But I tried to demonstrate that I could usually help the team win. Therefore, I believe that was my only obstacle.
" That I may get my bowling together. Sir]Wasim ] has played a big role in this. He has been a great help to me. Our power-hitting coach, he has helped a lot of females. I think all the payment goes to him because he has given us the belief that you can become an all-rounder. So he gets the credit for this".
