Morkel claimed to have been "blown ahead" by the athletes ' professionalism after speaking with them about their goals.
As India's fresh ball coach, Morne Morkel's primary goal is to protect an now well-oiled set-up, and make sure the people "feel at house" despite the weight of anticipation.
Morkel, who replaced Paras Mhambrey in the position last quarter, joined the team in Chennai, where it is preparing for the future home Test set against Bangladesh.
" Coming below, this is a set-up that operates by itself", Morkel said on club. tv. " To guard that and make it better in modest way is going to be the target.
" When I was sitting in the aircraft, I reflected that we are so fortunate to have quality older people and they will lead the charge. We have a responsibility to support them and offer them the best guidance possible.
Morkel's title was recommended by head coach Gautam Gambhir. During the IPLs of 2022 and 2023, the two teams had previously collaborated for the Lucknow Super Giants. Morkel said it was essential for him to interact with the participants and make them feel safe to get the best out of them.
" I have played a significant against some of the people, I have seen and connected a little bit with some of the people during the IPL", he said. It's very important to stay in the tent and kind friendships and relationships.
" Today's aim was to get an understanding of the people, their strengths and weaknesses, and assist them with planting those grains for goals for the future line. That's the sort of conversation we had immediately. And the men did actually well. I was floored by their professionalism and how they handled the situation. So that's a good indicator and, finally, we can create on that.
" It's one thing to have talent and skill but how can you make those guys feel welcome in an intimidating environment … India playing in the blue shirt is a lot of expectations, so for me, having the experience, going through that, and passing that sort of knowledge and helping them settle in and feel at home]is important ]".
" As soon as a player has that comfort and feel that they belong, that's when the performance comes. So it's about looking after that and, certainly, upgrading them and raising their standards.
Morkel claimed that his father was the first to receive the media during a conversation about his visit.
" It]the visit ] was quite a special moment for me. I shared it with my family after enjoying it for about five to seven minutes, which I certainly did afterward. The first thing did was to telephone my uncle first. I discussed it with him. I did n't go to my wife. Generally, they say proceed to your wife second. but we spoke, my father.
" I feel ready to take up this problem. There will always be hopes of winning, I am aware of and aware of. Fortunately, I have experienced that in my watching days and I may share that information".
