In Durham's last three games, a strong bowling from the West Indies will be available.
Durham have signed West Indies quickly bowling Chemar Holder for their last three game of the County Championship time.
Holder, who has played a Test and an ODI for his state, will be available for the round of Championship game starting on Monday, when Durham number Lancashire at Chester-le-Street. He replaces Neil Wagner, the New Zealand left-armer, whose tenure was cut short by injuries.
Chemar will make a big difference in Durham's ball lineup for the final stages of the season, according to Marcus North, Durham's director of cricket." We are pleased to welcome him to Durham for the last stages of the season.
" With international call downs and a number of injuries, it was extremely important to bring in an additional seamer and we are pleased to have secured a bowler of Holder's value".
Holder won a Test cap in 2020, after impressing in the local first-class structure, and has also featured for Warwickshire in the County Championship. He spent more than a year out of the game after requiring back surgery but was given a CWI brand deal earlier this year as West Indies looked to preserve him part of their fast-bowling share.
Holder said:" It feels really good to be a part of Durham and to be playing state cricket for a next time.
" When I move on the industry, I usually put my best foot forward and keep everything out there. I will place my all into the future game and am looking forward to this option. I ca n't wait to get started if I am selected this week and give my all for Durham."
Durham are now eighth in Division One of the Tournament, 24 factors clear of second-bottom Lancashire.
