IPL 2025: Zaheer Khan to meet LSG as leader

LSG are also good on giving Zaheer a wider status, involving hunting and player growth

Gautam Gambhir's leave after the IPL 2023 will leave him as his mentor, and Sachheer Khan will become one of them. Gambhir had taken up the coach position at Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2024 and has since become nose coach of the India people's team.

After Morne Morkel left the company to meet Gambhir's training staff with the Indian team, Zaheer will continue to serve as LSG's ball coach.

From 2018 to 2022, Zaheer was involved with the Mumbai Indians ( MI ) franchise, first as director of cricket and then head of global development. Due to that, he was part of three Cricket team as a player- MI, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Daredevils. In all, he featured in 100 games for the three groups across ten times, picking up 102 wickets at an economy of 7.58. He next played in the event in 2017, when he led Daredevils, before retiring from all kinds of cricket.

As reported earlier by ESPNcricinfo, apart from the position of leader, LSG are furthermore good on giving Zaheer a wider page that will mean engagement with the hunting and player-development programs during the off time.

LSG's training set-up is now headed by Justin Langer, who will remain in the part after having replaced Andy Flower as head coach back of IPL 2024, with Lance Klusener and Adam Voges as his assistants.
