Chandika Hathurusinghe is a hard taskmaster. He does n't mince his words, not to players, board officials or journalists. It is occasionally brush people the wrong way because of its outlook. On Monday, in Rawalpindi but, the Bangladesh coach showed a different part of himself.

Hathurusinghe was questioned about his feelings while living in Dhaka, a area wracked by political unrest, after three regular inquiries. He arrived on August 2nd, a day before the country was uncomfortable and there was still a curfew in effect. The following three nights saw more murder as what began as scholar demonstrations in July spilled over into something more contentious. In the Gulshan place of Dhaka, Hathurusinghe stayed at the Amari resort. It is usually a silent place but during the protests, every foot of Dhaka, including the fancy ones, was in trauma.

Hathurusinghe tried to answer the problem with his usual straight-faced quiet but was quickly overwhelmed. He needed a few moments to collect himself before choking on his thoughts. When asked what caused him to feel so distressed, he expressed his grief over the costs the Bangladeshis had suffered.

" My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their loved ones," Hathurusinghe said. " It was really hard … I think, I hope the students ' questions will be answered. It was a unique circumstance. I'm optimistic that things will quickly return to normal. It was very hard".

Bangladesh bowlers and coaches rarely speak in public about issues beyond the sport. They frequently keep their decks a few inches away from the stomach. But the turmoil up house has been significant. Hathurusinghe added that he hopes the Bangladesh team may deliver some positive reports to a divided country. He asserted that" game has a real energy to join and give hope to the people."

Hathurusinghe added that if Bangladesh's mind coach' deal expired, he would support the BCB's decision. He was hired in February of 2023, and he apparently has until the Champions Trophy's conclusion in 2025. The BCB president Nazmul Hassan, who has n't been seen or heard from for the last two weeks, was Hathurusinghe's biggest backer.

" I do n't know what's happening back home", he said. I've agreed to a lease until the day it expires. I'm eager to serve the remainder of my word. If the table shifts, and the new people want to make a shift, I am cool with that. If they want to remain with me, I am happy to continue".

Hathurusinghe was unable to attend Dhaka training, so the BCB accepted the PCB's proposal to spend three more days education in Lahore in preparation for the Test series. He claimed that despite having a nice, all-round team, it still appears spin-heavy, specifically against the Pakistani side, who chose to play all-pace.

Hathurusinghe said that Bangladesh have much detail in the rhythm section to make use of the problems they will be getting when the first Check begins on Wednesday. He claimed that the Rawalpindi pitch appears to be better for quick bowling and batting. " They also did n't pick any spinners. Since, we have developed a lot of great rapid bowlers in our rates as well. If the problem favours, they will do well. Shakib Al Hasan and]Mehidy Hasan ] Miraz are two world-class allrounders. Whatever they throw our way, we have everything covered.

Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, Khaled Ahmed and Taskin Ahmed are the batsmen in Bangladesh's club, although Taskin will be available only for the next Test.

" The strong bowlers did well in the]T20] World Cup where they had favourable circumstances. It has n't happened overnight. It has grown over the past two decades. They have never played 20 Assessments completely, so they are young quickly bowlers compared to the Pakistan attack. I am really excited to see how they continue", Hathurusinghe said.

Bangladesh's primary concern is their bat, which has lost its way in the last 12 month. Their latest loss was at the T20 World Cup, in June, but Hathurusinghe believes that Pakistan's innings may bring out the best in them.

" Batting has been a problem for a while, but not for one purpose", he said. " We play in result-oriented innings up residence. Maybe 250 is a winning score in those innings. The batters are certainly having a difficult time playing on these innings. I hope the batters in Pakistan usually favour bat. It is a great competition between bat and ball. We'll deliver better outcomes from these innings.
